Schools across the country may be closed, but this hasn’t stopped staff and students at Felsted School from joining the fightback against the pandemic. Not only have they housed the East England Ambulance staff, made visors and donated PPE and Easter eggs to the NHS, but they are also brightening up the lockdown for a number of elderly residents in the village.

Elana Cook, a student at ​Burgess Hill Girls, has shaved her head to raise over £700 for the NHS.

The Leighton Park face shields initiative has taken the next step in providing personal protective equipment (PPE) for the NHS. Teaming up with the ScrubHub, a network of volunteer community groups who love to sew, Leighton Park has provided fabric for 250 sets of scrubs.

5 year old, Year 1 ​Churcher’s College Junior School pupil, Bea, ran 100 laps (2.2 miles/3.6km) of her garden at the weekend and raised £175 for Children In Need/Big Night In.

​Ollie, age 8, from Chiddingfold, Surrey followed in his dad’s footsteps and shaved his head for charity. Matthew, Ollie’s dad, volunteered to take part in his company fundraiser. Several members of his team from THB Professional & Financial Risks volunteered to shave their heads to show their support and respect to NHS staff and their tireless work throughout the Covid-19 crisis.

After seeing some incredible fundraising efforts to help others, 4 year old Benjamin Elliot felt inspired to do something to raise money too and set himself a 10 mile challenge.
